Call to the bullpen has new Ring tone
As E-Boland reported in today's editions, lefthanded reliever Royce Ring was brought up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He has appeared in the majors with the Mets, Padres and Braves and has a lifetime average of 3-3 with a 4.93 earned run average.
Ring was signed as a free agent last winter. He was impressive in Triple-A this year, striking out 39 batters in 42 innings. He had a 1.93 earned run average.
Look for Ring to face a lefthanded batter or two as he spells Boone Logan.
