Robinson Cano made it clear who he thought the American League MVP should be while visiting the MLB Fan Cave in New York City on Thursday.

Robinson Cano.

"MVP is tough right now, you've got a lot of guys, but I would give my vote to myself," Cano said. "You can see the numbers, I mean, I'm batting fifth in the lineup, I've been there the whole year, and why not me? My numbers are there."

What about Tigers ace Justin Verlander, who is 24-5 and has won 12 straight starts?

"I would give it to myself, too," Cano said, smiling. "He had a great year, the guy, he's been good. ... You gotta tip your hat to that."

Cano was also asked about teammate Curtis Granderson's season. Cano said, "Curtis has been unbelievable for us, I mean, 42 bombs? That's a lot."
