Clemens ordered to Washington for hearing

The judge presiding over the criminal case against former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens has instructed Clemens to appear at a hearing to determine if a Clemens attorney has a conflict of interest should Andy Pettitte--a government witness--be called to testify.

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton will hear arguments Feb. 2 on whether attorney  Rusty Hardin and his law firm should be barred from cross-examining Pettitte. The U.S. said that Hardin's firm had worked for Pettitte.

Clemens was indicted last  August on one count of obstructing a congressional investigation, three counts of making false statements and two counts of perjury.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin in July.

Last week, Clemens asked for the charges to be dismissed.
