Cliff Lee tumbles with Rangers
You wanted pitcher Cliff Lee to become a Yankee in the worse way. That is exactly the way he has been pitching for the Rangers. Lee is 2-4 with a 4.18 earned run average and has yielded eight home runs. He was 8-3 with a 2.34 ERA for Seattle when the Yankees nearly acquired him.
In his last start, Lee was bombed for eight runs on 10 hits by Baltimore. The Rangers are slumping, but losing six of 10 hasn't hurt Texas, which holds 7 1/2 game lead in the AL West.
Lee will still be a hot property for the off season when he becomes a free agent. And the Yankee are likely to be front and center.
