Could be raining at game time
ARLINGTON, Texas -- On the way into Rangers Ballpark today, I asked a security man if it was going to rain tonight.
"In the clubhouse it will," he said. "Champagne."
We'll see about that. But I thought it was a clever statement.
It is cloudy in Arlington about three hours before Game 6 of the ALCS. It has been raining on and off all day, lightly for the most part with short bursts that feel like it's going to downpour. Then it stops.
According to weather.com, there is a 30% chance of rain at the 7:07 local start time (8:07 in New York). The percentage goes like this for the rest of the night:
8 p.m.: 20%
9 p.m.: 10%
10 p.m.: 30%
11 p.m.: 30%
Midnight: 30%
Could we have a delay tonight? Sure. A rainout? Seems unlikely. A long night? Possible.
UPDATE, 7:15 p.m. Eastern:
Weather.com has changed its forecast. It is now much more dire and based on it, it seems certain there will be a delay of some sort. The new percentages (all times local):
7 p.m.: 10%
8 p.m.: 40%
9 p.m.: 95%
10 p.m.: 55%
11 p.m.: 10%
Midnight: 30%
