Cubs may wait on Girardi
The Chicago Cubs still need a manager.
Cubs general manager Jim Hendry has interviewed Eric Wedge (signed by Seattle), Don Wakamatsu, Bob Melvin, Ryne Sandberg and Mike Quade.
Hendry may be seeking at least one more candidate.
The consensus is that Hendry will wait until Joe Girardi's season is over with the Yankees. That could come this week or not until after the World Series.
Girardi, whose contract with the Yankees is up after this season, has not ruled the Cubs in or out.
