Red Sox slugger and free agent David Ortiz is tired of the drama in Boston and is ready for a “good situation,” which could mean a move to the Yankees, he said during an ESPN interview.

"It's great from what I hear [in New York]," Ortiz told ESPN. "It's a good situation to be involved in. Who doesn't want to be involved in a great situation where everything goes the right way?”

Ortiz, who will be 36 in November, wouldn’t be the first Red Sox to experience the rivalry from the other dugout. Former teammate Johnny Damon played with Boston from 2002-05 before signing a four-year, $52 million contract prior to the 2006 season. Wade Boggs and Roger Clemens became legends in Boston, as did Ortiz, before coming to the Yankees.

"That's something I gotta think about," Ortiz said. "I've been here on the Red Sox a long time, and I've seen how everything goes down between these two ballclubs."

Just as elusive as he was with his comments about joining the Yankees, Big Papi was very direct in expressing his frustration with the Red Sox.

"There's too much drama. I have been thinking about a lot of things. I don't know if I want to be part of this drama for next year."

In nine seasons with Boston, Ortiz hit .289 with 320 home runs and 1,028 RBIs.
