Did Yanks let a good chance slide?
The Yankees looked like a cinch to send the Twins reeling in the top of the sixth: first and third, one out, Robinson Cano up. You wonder if their aggressive approach against Carl Pavano was too aggressive. Cano needed to hit it really hard someplace or at least make Pavano squirm. Instead, he popped out to short left.
So instead of a big inning that put the Twins on their heels, the Yankees gave the Twins a reprieve. They look revive here in the bottom of the sixth, a homer by Orlando Hudson, a triple by Delmon Young. A 2-2 tie.
