Eiland unloads on Yankees

Fired pitching coach Dave Eiland will enact his revenge on the Yankees as a special assistant  to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Eiland is ready to give his new employear any information he can to help beat the Yankees.

``Absolutely, whatever I can give ’em to help, I can do that,” Eiland told the St. Petersburg Times.  “And I’ve got plenty of them. They’re the enemy now.”

Eiland sounds as if he is still smarting from his firing. ``I have my opinion on the way it was handled,'' he said,  ``and there was never any real reason as to why, but there’s no reason for me to get into that.'' 

Eiland left the Yankees for an unexplained leave of absence during the season. That was thought to be a major factor in Brian Cashman's decision not to retain him.
