Lefthander Patrick Corbin visited the Yankees on Thursday on a free-agent tour that also took him to the Phillies and Nationals this week. General manager Brian Cashman confirmed the visit on YES Network’s “Hot Stove” show Thursday night.

“Patrick Corbin is here at Yankee Stadium today,” Cashman said. “I wouldn’t call it a recruiting effort as much as an educational effort. Getting a chance to see the facilities from the home side, because clearly he’s played here as a visitor.”

Their pitch included his image in pinstripes on the video board, presumably adding to the appeal the Yankees already had as Corbin’s favorite team while growing up near Syracuse.

Corbin, 29, was 11-7 with a 3.15 ERA for the Diamondbacks last season. He is expected to command a six-year contract totaling nine figures as perhaps the most attractive free-agent pitcher on the market.

“It’s part of the process,” Cashman said. “In some cases you go through the effort of showing people around, and we’ll do what’s necessary to go through the process. We’re very fluid with various agents and various teams to fix the areas of need.”

SNY reported a contract agreement is not imminent. J.A. Happ, whom the Yankees acquired this past season, remains a potential alternative.
