Brett Gardner was asked during a pregame news conference today about the speed that started the Yankees' five-run winning rally in the eighth last night. He had an uncommon idea to determine who is the fastest runner in baseball:

"I don't know. I was talking to Curtis [Granderson] the other day, I think they need to have a race at the All-Star Game, just line up 10 or 20 guys and see who wins. That would be fun. [Greg] Golson on our team, he's really, really fast. Greg can really, really run. I haven't raced him. I don't really want to. Obviously Borbon, he can run and there's several guys that can really move. There's only one way to find out; let's do a race."
