Joe Girardi had a real news conference after a simulated game on the Yankee Stadium field and didn't make it official, but indicated that he is leaning toward a four-man rotation for the ALCS. And that means he is leaning toward A.J. Burnett.

The manager pointed out that if you go to a three-pitcher rotation on short rest, "you're asking them to do it a lot," it's not just a one-shot deal. With respect to Burnett, he pointed out that the pitcher did do well for the most part in the postseason. "They were big starts," Girardi said. "I do have confidence in A.J."

A more definitive plan will come once the staff meets on Wednesday. Included in that will be who will catch, if Burnett pitches.
