No matter how you dissect it, Curtis Granderson has been a disappointment in his first season with the Yankees. One of his biggest flaws is the inability to hit lefthanders, highlighted by a strikeout against Jon Lester with the bases loaded yesterday in the seventh inning of a 2-1 loss.

Granderson is batting .206 against lefthanders in 102 at-bats with one home run, four RBIs and  a 28/5 K/BB ratio and a .518 OPS. Against righthanders, Granderson is batting .258 with nine home runs, 29 RBIs and a 46/24 K/BB ratio with an .828 OPS.

Granderson hit .183 in 180 at-bats against lefthanders last season. For his career, the centerfielder is batting .209 against lefties in 721 at-bats.
