Didn’t it seem like the Yankees could never avoid seeing Roy Halladay when he pitched for Toronto? Now they have to face him in interleague play Tuesday when the Phillies visit for a three-game series.

Here’s an early look at the matchup between the 2009 World Series participants.

Halladay's lifetime numbers against the Yankees are outstanding. He is 18-6 with a 2.84 earned run average with seven complete games. The Yankees last faced Halladay last Sept. 15. He pitched six innings and allowed two runs on 11 hits. He is coming off a 1-0 loss to the Marlins. He is 8-4 with a 1.96 ERA and has a perfect game. He's a lock for the NL All-Star team.

Sabathia is 1-1 with a 4.35 ERA average in three starts against the Phillies, including Game Four of the 2009 World Series where he did not figure into the decision. He is 6-3 with a 4.01 ERA and four of his victories have come against the last place Orioles. He's not a consideration for the All-Star team.
