Hot Reid, mainly against the Yankees
You heard the name of Tampa Bay infielder Reid Brignac before he won last night's game against the Yanks with a home run in the 11th inning.
It was Oldtimers Day at Yankee Stadium in July and Brignac hit two home runs in a 10-5 victory. That was the day A.J. Burnett inflicted pain on himself after inflicting it on Yankees fans with his performance.
Brignac, who plays sparingly, had the quote of the year after that game. He was asked about not having much of a batting average. ``Hits are hard to come by sometimes,'' he replied. ``Especially when you are not playing.''
Brignac would not have been in Monday's game had Carl Crawford not been ejected for arguing a strike call.
