Phil Hughes was available out of the bullpen yesterday and will be again tonight. Girardi said the idea still is for Hughes to make his start Tuesday.
“If he’s not going to get into the game today, we could have him throw a side tomorrow if we feel our bullpen is in good shape,’’ Girardi said. “We could do it during the game.’’
Of sticking with a six-man rotation another time through, pitching coach Larry Rothschild said, “We have an idea , but we’ll have to see what happens tomorrow.’’
