Is this Cliff Lee, or Josh Beckett?
Everyone raise your hand if you expected Colby Lewis to pitch like this. I know I didn't. I certainly figured that there was no way the Rangers righthanded pitcher would pitch even as well as he had last Saturday. The guy gives new meaning to the word, "journeyman"--Rangers, Tigers, Nationals, Athletics, Royals, Hiroshima Carp and Rangers again.
He is not quite as dominant as Cliff Lee--he has allowed three extra-base hits--but he is getting stronger, the way Josh Beckett did in Game 6 of the 2003 World Series. Beckett stayed in to finish a 2-0 triumph. Judging from the Lewis pitched the eighth, you'd have to give him a chance to start the ninth if you're the Rangers, don't you?
