Jeter, Grandy, Tex given a breather

TORONTO -- It was not a lineup of All-Stars Sunday.
At least, not as many as the Yankees usually field.
On the final day of a four-city, 10-game trip, Joe Girardi rested Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira.
Robinson Cano got just his fifth start of the season at DH.
"The guys have been going so hard, we've got an important ten days coming up, want to try and get them a little bit of a blow," Girardi said. "Grandy and Jeter have really struggled in their career against [Brandon] Morrow in their career and I just thought today was the day."
Coming in Jeter was 4-for-22 in his career against Morrow and Granderson was 2-for-16.
Chris Dickerson got the start in left, Brett Gardner shifted from left to center, Eduardo Nunez started at second, Ramiro Pena was at short and Eric Chavez started at first for the second time this season.
Girardi said none of the players were injured.
"At this point in the season, any opportunity you get I guess it helps," Jeter said. "Especially with the scheduled we've had."
