Lee was going to stay in
Ron Washington, the Rangers manager, said that if the team had not scored those six runs in the ninth, "He was coming back out. We were going to ride him."
"Knowing how he felt, knowing the type of finishig pitcher that he is, just let him go" Washington said about the scenario of a 2-0 game with a starter who had thrown 122 pitches.
And here's the Rangers new theme song (saluting The Bobbettes, who had a hit with it)
“One, two, three/Look at Mr. Lee/
Three, four, five/Look at him jive/
"Mr. Lee, Mr. Lee/
Oh, Mr. Lee…”
