Lineup vs. Orioles (Posada still out) and Live Chat III Monday from Boston
Jorge Posada walked into the clubhouse at 7:56 this morning and declared his stiff neck was "better today," but that he wouldn't be in the lineup a second straight day. Mike Rivera gets the start.
Joe Girardi said there was some concern "short term" regarding Posada, meaning the stiffness was something the Yankees wanted to knock out before Sunday. This could be a case, as it apparently is with Francisco Cervelli, of the Yankees being extra cautious as we wind down the final days of the spring. As Brian Cashman said yesterday, the default mode is to "overreact" in terms of keeping guys out because there's no benefit in forcing someone back for the third-to-last or second-to-last spring game. There should be more from Posada later.
As for today's lineup vs. the O's:
Jeter ss
Johnson dh
Teixeira 1b
A-Rod 3b
Cano 2b
Swisher rf
Granderson cf
Gardner lf
Rivera c
*** Also, we'll have a Live Chat here at 11 a.m. (sharp) Monday morning, live from Boston.
