The Yankees open their 2014 schedule deep in the heart of Texas, while the Mets have the Big Apple all to themselves.

Major League Baseball released the 2014 schedules Tuesday, and the Yankees start with a three-game set against the Astros in Houston while the Mets begin against Washington at Citi Field.

The Yankees and Mets play four games against each other from May 12-15, with the first two of the Subway Series at Yankee Stadium.

Other Yankees highlights include the home opener April 7 against the Orioles and the first Red Sox series at home from April 10-13.

The Yankees will play interleague games against the NL Central: Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Cardinals and Reds. Their September schedule features 23 games against division rivals, including 20 against the Rays, Red Sox and Orioles.

The Mets will play teams from the American League West: the Angels, Athletics, Rangers and Astros. The Mets' season ends with three home games against the Astros.
