Montero will not be joining Yanks
Forget about catcher Jesus Montero getting a taste of the majors this month.
The 20-year-old prospect, who may one day replace Jorge Posada, told the Times Tribune in Scranton that his recovery from a surgical procedure to take care of an infection in his leg could take ``two or three months.’’
Montero missed the Triple-A playoffs with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He batted .289 with 21 home runs and 75 runs batted in. He hit .351 with 14 homers after the All-Star break.
