Prospect Romine has Red Sox roots
Yankee catching prospect Austin Romine has baseball genes--and Red Sox history--from his father, Kevin, who played six seasons in Boston.
New Hampshire born Kevin Romine, a utility outfielder, hit .251 with five home runs and 55 RBIs in his career. He made his homers count. Two were game winners and the last in his career was a grand slam. It came on May 5, 1991 against the White Sox. He was released later that season.
