Red Sox come to town
We keep saying there's no juice to this series, but here we go again. The Yankees host the Red Sox and Boston needs a sweep to make a dent in the standings. We don't expect that to happen. Looks like a split of the four game set.
Friday: Javier Vazquez (9-7, 4.61) vs. Clay Buchholz (11-5, 2.59): The Yankees are revitalized after everyone is relieved of the weight surrounding A-Rod's long ordeal for his 600th home run. They could take it out on Buchholz if Vazquez doesn't spoil the party. Advantage: Yankees.
Saturday: CC Sabathia (13-5, 3.19) vs. John Lackey (10-6, 4.48): Sabathia needs to regain his near Cy Young form. Lackey isn't the pitcher the Red Sox thought he would be. Advantage: Yankees.
Sunday: A.J. Burnett (9-9, 4.93) vs. Josh Beckett (3-1, 5.70): Burnett is completely unpredictable. Beckett has looked good since his return. Advantage: Red Sox.
Monday: Dustin Moseley (1-1, 4.13) vs. Jon Lester (11-7, 3.07): Moseley tries to hold on until Andy Pettitte returns. Advantage: Red Sox.
