Reggie looks for A-Rod to have breakout game
Alex Rodriguez is hitting .176 in the ALCS against the Texas Rangers. A-Rod's on-base percentage is .333 and his slugging percentage is .235.
With Mark Teixeira's bat missing from the lineup, the Yankees will need A-Rod to get hot over the next two games.
One person who can't wait to see what A-Rod does over the next two games is someone who knows a little something about big-time hitting in the postseason: Reggie Jackson.
"I'm looking forward to watching my buddy, Big Al," Jackson told Newsday's Cody Derespina by telephone on Thursday. "He went to the ballpark (Thursday) with an empty basket, and he told me, 'Tomorrow it's gonna be full.' "
Rodriguez is back in his usual spot in the lineup for Friday night's Game 6, batting in the No. 4 spot, against Colby Lewis of Texas.
