According to the New York Post, Boras took back saying he was looking to get the final two years of Robinson Cano's contract voided in order to restructure a new contract.

The team has a $14-million option on Cano for 2012 that it will exercise and a $15-million option in 2013.

Boras has been Cano's agent since last spring.

In the spring, Cano gave his reasons for switching to Boras.

"They have a great company, a company that can do everything for you, not only on the field but off the field, too, so that's why I went there," he said. "Nothing where I'm thinking about a big contract or anything."

Asked then specifically if he would be asking for a new deal, Cano said no.

"I would never do that," he said. "Those are things that have to be their decision."
