Riggleman resignation intrigues Girardi
Girardi was intrigued by the resignation of Washington manager Jim Riggleman on Thursday because of a contract issue at a time when the Nationals had won 11 of 12 games. “It’s different,’’ Girardi said. “It’s interesting. You’d love to know all the circumstances, and we probably never will. You have to live with your own decisions. Jim made a decision, he was comfortable with it, and he went with it. He’s done a very good job there. It’s not something you see every day in our business, though.’’
