Sabathia in Cy Young contention
It doesn't really seem like CC Sabathia (12-3, 3.13) has pitched lights out this season, but a victory over the Royals tonight would give him the most wins in the league. David Price of the Rays also has 12. Tampa Bay is off today.
Sabathia has not lost since May 23 (to the Mets). He will be opposed by Bruce Chen (5-3, 4.06).
Four of Sabathia's victories have come against the lowly Orioles, but his victory total and acceptable ERA will make him a Cy Young contender. He won the award in 2007 with the Indians. Sabathia has never been a 20 game winner; he's won 19 twice in a season.
