Because the teams are so close, CC Sabathia's quest for his first 20-win season will get second billing tonight when the Yankees meet Tampa Bay in the first of a three-game series.

Sabathia (19-6, 3.14) had a chance to win 20 last season but was knocked out by the Rays in his last regular season start. He had a golden opportunity in his last outing against Baltimore, a team that he has owned, but he gave up six runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Against Tampa Bay this season, Sabathia is 1-1 with a 2.53 ERA in three starts. He is 8-4 lifetime with a 3.08 ERA in 18 starts.

Of course, a victory would help strengthen Sabathia's case for a second Cy Young Award.

David Price (17-6. 2.87) starts for Tampa Bay.
