Now managing: LIer Scott Ullger
That exasperated fellow in the Twins dugout is acting manager Scott Ullger, the coach who has taken over for Ron Gardenhire after the latter's ejection (for arguing a call that the umpire got wrong).
Ullger was a standout quarterback at Plainview-Kennedy who chose to play baseball at St. John's. He was a finalist for the managing job with the Twins that went to Gardenhire, his friend, who hired Ullger as a coach and has kept him on.
Don't know if Ullger ever will get a shot at managing in the bigs, but he probably should.
