The Yankees have been generating extraordinary ratings this spring training on both the YES Network and MLB Network. On Wednesday, the preseason hype carried over to the Mets’ station, helping SNY set high marks of its own.

SNY’s telecast of the Mets-Yankees game averaged 2.05 percent of New York-area households, the highest such figure for a Grapefruit League game in SNY’s 13-season history and its largest exhibition game rating overall since April 3, 2009, when the Mets hosted the Red Sox in prime time in their first game at Citi Field.

Wednesday’s rating surely was helped by the snowstorm that hit the New York area, keeping many home from work and school.
