In April 2010, umpire Joe West blasted the Yankees and Red Sox as "pathetic and embarassing" for the length of time they take when playing each other. At the time, the Yankees and Red Sox had played two games that last 3:46 and 3:48, respectively.
This year, West won't be chirping.
The time of this weekend's Yankees-Red Sox games were far shorter. A look at all three:
| GAME | SCORE | HITS | TIME |
|---|---|---|---|
| Friday, April 8 | 9-6, Red Sox | 20 | 3:06 |
| Saturday, April 9 | 9-4, Yankees | 23 | 3:26 |
| Sunday, April 10 | 4-0, Red Sox | 14 | 2:56 |
