George Steinbrenner will not travel to New York for his milestone birthday on July 4 when  the Yankees host the Blue Jays.

``George Steinbrenner will celebrate his birthday with his family,'' publicist Howard Rubenstein wrote in an e-mail to Newsday. Steinbrenner lives in Tampa.

Steinbrenner was last at the Stadium on opening day. There is no word on whether the Yankees will hold any type of celebration to honor Steinbrenner, who is said to have health issues. Steinbrenner did make a recent public appearance in the Tampa area to attend the dedication of a high school bearing his name. He is largely confined to a wheel chair for what has been described as knee problems.
