Nick Swisher was batting .301 on August 2. His hopes of hitting .300 for the season are just about over with an injury-shortened September. He is 5-for-37 (.135) this month and is down to .286.
Swisher, who has missd time with a sore knee, was 0-for-5 as the designated hitter on Sunday against the Orioles.
