Teixeira hit by pitch, out of game
Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira was removed from the Yankees-Red Sox game in the first inning.
Teixeira was hit by a pitch on his right kneecap by Red Sox starter Jon Lester. He needed help getting off the field.
Teixeira is second in the MLB with 18 home runs this year, trailing Toronto's Jose Bautista, who has 20. He is batting .258 with 41 RBIs.
