Teixeira: I couldn't miss my child's birth
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mark Teixeira said there was only one decision to make when his wife, Leigh, was due to give birth to the couple's third child earlier in the week.
"That's automatic [to be there]," Teixeira said. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I missed my child's birth or if anything happened. There's no question in my mind. I talked with Joe and Cash [Brian Cashman] beforehand, months ago and said, this is the deal, this is what's going to happen. If it happens to be when we're on the road I may need to miss a couple games, and they were obviously great with it."
