Yes, it could have been better for the Yankees had at least one of the umpires actually noticed that the ball changed direction after it bounced off Nick Swisher's leg. Maybe they were fooled by the grimace on Swisher's face, thinking he was just trying to sell it, which he had not done in Game 4.

        Anyway, a tie game in the middle of the fifth is good news for the Yankees, regardless of the fact that the Rangers have hit a few of the relievers pretty well. The Yankees could conceivably get four innings out of Kerry Wood and Mariano Rivera tonight and an out or two from CC Sabathia.

          The sooner it gets to a bullpen matchup, the better it is for the Yankees.
