CC Sabathia is doing his part so far.

Despite giving up three hits in the first two innings (Ian Kinsler singled to center in the second), Sabathia is giving his team a chance to grab the lead. He struck out Matt Treanor to end the second.

The Yankees went down 1-2-3 in the first against C.J. Wilson. After Alex Rodriguez, Marcus Thames and Lance Berkman are next in the lineup. With Teixeira out, the Yankees will need contributions from Thames and Berkman.

A-Rod and Thames have struggled in this series. Berkman almost had a home run last night that was correctly ruled foul after a review. Berkman, however, will be batting righty against Wilson, not his strongest side.

Thames hit .302 with five of his 12 home runs against lefthanders this season.

Berkman hit .171 with one home run against lefthanders this season.
