Johnny Damon makes his return to the Bronx Monday night, playing in his first game at Yankee Stadium as a member of the Detroit Tigers.

But the more pressing issue for the Yankees is keeping their lead (now at just a game) over the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East.

Max Scherzer (7-9, 4.03 ERA) gets the start for the Tigers. Detroit is a disappointing 57-60 in the AL Central, 10.5 games out of first place.
