Russo (pictured), who was born in West Babylon, is 5-for-15 with four RBIs, two runs, one walk and three strikeouts in his five games seeing regular playing time. Might his emergence mean the Yankees will cut Randy Winn when Curtis Granderson comes off the DL (which is expected to happen tomorrow)?
Said Joe Girardi to Mike Francesa about keeping Russo around: "That's a decision we're going to have to make when Grandy comes back. ...The young man [Russo] has done a very nice job and he's versatile. ...I've been happy with what I've seen."
