The most interesting subject surrounding the Yankees potential interest in Jose Guillen, who was designated by the Royals, is not so much what he could add to the roster but rather his desire to wear No. 6 on his uniform.

That number belonged to manger Joe Torre, but it has not yet been retired by the team. The Yankees wouldn't dare give it to a journeyman player--would they?
