Thus far, good news for the Yankees on their day off: The Twins have scored five runs off Wade Davis and lead the Rays, 5-0, in the fifth inning. The Twins scored four runs in the first.
Joe Mauer and Delmon Young hit run-scoring doubles while Jason Kubel and J.J. Hardy each singled in a run. A Tampa Bay loss would give the Yankees a half-game lead in the AL East. The teams are currently tied.
