Two runs on one hit, nothing hit beyond infield

        He gave up the lead, but A.J. Burnett still was not bad. He allowed only one hit and it was the softest of hits, a slow roller to third by a fast runner, Michael Young. Alex Rodriguez could not get a grip on it and the Rangers second run came home.

         Burnett's cardinal sin, of course, was the one that often hurts pitchers: a leadoff walk. That set bad things in motion. David Murphy went to second on a wild pitch, held there as Bengie Molina was hit by a pitch. Both moved up on Mich Moreland's sacrifice. Murphy came home on a groundout--Mark Teixeira's nice play at first on an in-between hop.

           What do you give Burnett as a grade in that inning? I say a B.
