Vikings' trade for Moss upstage the Twins? Don't tell Gardenhire
MINNEAPOLIS -- The rabid sports fans in Minnesota went to bed last night dreaming of their Twins opening the postseason at home. And then they woke up this morning to a present named Randy Moss.
Not a bad day for sports in this town, eh?
Yet when a television reporter lobbed a softball question about Moss to Ron Gardenhire, the Twins manager wasn't exactly willing to wave his Minnesota pom-poms. He's got other priorities on his mind, such as Sabathia, Rodriguez, Teixeira, Rivera and Cano.
"Well, I don't have Moss on my fantasy team, so I wasn't worried about him," Gardenhire said. "And I couldn't get Favre, somebody took him before my team drafted, so I don't really give a flip.
"But coach Childress, if he's happy, I'm happy for him because I like him a lot. And I want to see the Vikings do well. But if I can get somebody to trade me Moss, I would be really happy right now."
