Whither Matsui?
The Yankees took some heat for not retaining World Series hero Hideki Matsui. He went to the Angels and the designated hitter has just 10 home runs and 47 runs batted in 88 games. He had 28 homers and 90 RBIs for the Yankees last season. The ability to read when a player has peaked is key for any organization and it certainly appears the Yankees (Brian Cashman) made the right decision.
