Ron Washington left C.J. Wilson in the game and the Yankees were able to tack on the run they lost with the Matt Treanor home run.

Nick Swisher walked, and Alex Rodriguez hit a one-out bomb to left center that bounced over the wall for a ground rule double. Wilson had no choice but to walk Marcus Thames to load the bases and pitch to Lance Berkman, batting from the right side. But Berkman hit a deep flyball to center that scored Swisher.

With Mark Teixeira out, the Yankees are getting the needed production. Swisher, Robinson Cano and Rodriguez -- the Nos. 2-4 hitters -- all have an RBI. Berkman, Jorge Posada and Curtis Granderson -- the Nos. 6-8 hitters -- also all have an RBI.
