The Yankees yesterday announced price increases for 2011 on many of their modestly priced tickets, by amounts ranging from $3 to $10.

Lonn Trost, the chief operating officer, said in an interview on WFAN that the adjustments reflected the real value of some tickets based on prices commanded on the secondary market.

Unobstructed bleacher tickets rose from $12 to $15 and several price points from $45 to $75 rose by $5 apiece on a season ticket basis.

Some $100 and $250 tickets rose to $110 and $260. (Obstructed bleacher seats will remain at $5.)

Trost said some per-game prices are lower when tickets are purchased on multiyear contracts.

The Yankees averaged an MLB-best 46,491 in paid attendance in 2010; Trost said that translated to 94 percent of available tickets being sold.

In 2011, the team will offer $5 tickets for select games and other specials on Tuesday nights. Discounts are available for certain games for families, senior citizens, students and military.

The Mets recently announced price decreases for 2011 averaging 14 percent.
