The Yankees dipped into the college talent pool for four pitchers, a first baseman, a second baseman and an outfielder Monday on the second day of the MLB Draft.

Kyle Carr became their top pick of the day and was selected in the third round, No. 97 overall.

The 6-1 lefthander went 12-1 with a 2.31 ERA in 15 games (14 starts) for Palomar College, a junior college in California, after spending his first two years at the University of San Diego. His fastball tops out at 97 mph.

In the event he does not sign with the Yankees, Carr is committed to TCU for next season.

Here’s a slice from his MLB.com scouting report: “Questions about durability. He has a Tommy John surgery on his resume already, and a lack of a third pitch have some thinking he’s best suited for the bullpen at the next level, though his left-handedness and arm strength will likely give him every chance to start out of the gate.”

In the fourth round, the Yankees went for a second baseman from Oklahoma State, known for his bat and his swagger.

Roc Riggio is 5-9, 180 pounds. Think Dustin Pedroia, the former Red Sox second baseman, although Riggio bats lefty.

He hit .335 with 18 homers as a sophomore in 2023.

“In pressure situations with a lot of magnitude, he’s so calm and so relaxed,” Oklahoma State first base coach Jordy Mercer told Oklahoma’s Tulsa World.

The Yankees chose Mississippi State righthanded pitcher Cade Smith in the sixth round.

Kiko Romero, who batted. 345 with 21 homers and 89 RBIs for the University of Arizona in 2023, was selected in the seventh round.

In the eighth round, the Yankees went big, selecting 6-8 pitcher Nicholas Judice. The Louisiana Monroe righty had a 3.74 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 53 innings (21 games, three starts). He can touch 100 mph and has a good slider.

Arkansas outfielder Jared Wegner was their ninth-round pick. They closed the round by taking Oklahoma State pitcher Brian Hendry in the 10th round. The righty pitched three seasons for St. John’s before missing the 2022 season because of Tommy John surgery.
