Yankees-Red Sox postponed; doubleheader Sunday
According to the New York Yankees weather update feed on Twitter (@YankeesWeather), Friday night's series opener against the Boston Red Sox was postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up on Sunday as part of a split-gate doubleheader, according to the Twitter account, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The Yankees clinched the AL East title on Wednesday, and are two wins away from clinching homefield advantage throughout the American League bracket.
Boston, in the midst of a terrible September, leads the AL Wild Card race by two games over Tampa Bay, and three games over the Angels.
Jon Lester and Freddy Garcia were the scheduled starters.
