Yankees to honor Steinbrenner on July 4th
The Yankees will pay tribute to owner George M. Steinbrenner, II, for his 80th birthday on July 4 at Yankee Stadium.
The team will display all seven World Series trophies — from 1977, ’78, ’96, ’98, ’99, 2000 and ’09 — the organization has won under Steinbrenner’s ownership since 1973. All fans at Sunday’s game will be able to view the trophies, which will be located on the 200 level concourse, just outside the Yankees Museum, near the right-field corner of the stadium.
